RVs in Germany

Rent a RV in Germany

You want to travel through Germany and have an unforgettable time? You dream of adventure and freedom - and want to see and experience a lot? Then a RV trip is perfect for you! And of course, you don't need your own RV - you can simply rent one. Perfect for all those who want to get to know the beautiful country of Germany better - and are in the mood for an exciting trip!

RV Trip through Germany

A holiday in Germany sounds boring? - Not at all! Holidays in Germany can be incredibly varied and exciting. And Germany is also quite popular as a travel destination. More and more Germans are spending their holidays in their own country. And rightly so. Germany is an incredibly diverse country. From beautiful beaches by the sea to fairytale cities and turquoise-blue mountain lakes, there's something for everyone. Do you love the sea? No problem: you're sure to love the German North Sea and Baltic Sea. Are you more of a mountain person? Then head to Bavaria and hike in the Alps. As you can see, Germany offers an incredible number of possibilities. And the best thing is: you don't have to choose when you travel through Germany in a RV. You can explore all these places and decide every day what you feel like doing. Experience a different place every day and simply drive spontaneously to wherever you feel like it. Just rent a camper and start your journey!

RV rental in Germany: worth a trip at any time of year

Are you wondering when the best time is for your RV holiday in Germany? That depends on what you want to experience. Generally, extreme temperatures are not to be expected in Germany. In the northwest of Germany - near the North Sea coast - the climate is rather mild, with a comparatively high amount of rain. The climate is similar on the Baltic Sea coast.

In the Rhineland near the cities of Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Bonn, winters tend to be mild and summers hot and dry. This part of Germany is one of the most pleasant temperature regions in the country.
The climate in eastern and central Germany is continental: this means - long and mild winters and dry and hot summers.
In the south of Germany - in the mountains - the winters are quite long and characterised by snowfall. Here, it can also quickly reach double-digit minus temperatures in winter. But in summer it can also be hot and dry here.

When is the best time to set off with a RV? That depends on what kind of holiday you are planning. If you're travelling in summer, you can swim in lakes and the sea, hike in the mountains and sit in front of the RV in the evening and enjoy a barbecue. But winter camping also has its appeal: in winter, there is not much going on in northern Germany, and a holiday on the North Sea and Baltic Sea in winter can be wonderfully relaxing. Or you can take your camper to the mountains in winter - for skiing or snowboarding

RV rental in Germany: These are the places you should visit!

Where is the most beautiful destination in Germany? Which places should you definitely visit on a RV road trip in Germany?
Every region of Germany offers beautiful landscapes and sights that you should visit during your trip.

Rent a RV for a holiday in the south of Germany - these places are worthwhile!

  • The region of Upper Bavaria and the Bavarian Alpine foothills: Idyllic landscapes, traditional Bavarian culture, and a spectacular mountain panorama - that's what the region of Upper Bavaria offers.
  • The Bavarian lakes: There are many wonderful lakes in Bavaria. For example, Chiemsee, Walchensee, Eibsee, Tegernsee or Staffelsee. Here you can swim, try stand-up paddling or rent a boat. And there are numerous campsites right on the water!
  • The city of Munich: If you are already in Bavaria, then a trip to Munich is a good idea. Here you should take a look at the city centre around Marienplatz. Not far away you will find the famous Viktualienmarkt. Here you will find fruit, vegetables, sausages, cheese, handicraft stalls, and much more. The English Garden landscape park invites you to stroll and relax on the meadows. Here you can also watch the surfers in the Eisbach. The Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), the "Alter Peter" church tower, and, of course, the Hofbräuhaus are must-sees when visiting Munich. For car fans, a visit to BMW World in Munich is worthwhile. Our tip for your visit to Munich with a camper van: there are also several campsites in the city, where you can leave your camper van and spend the day in the city.
  • Experience Germany from above on the Zugspitze: You can either take the cogwheel railway or the gondola to Germany's highest mountain. And the trip is worth it: at the top, you will be rewarded with a spectacular view. However, remember to pack a warm jacket, even in summer. Even if it's nice and warm down in the valley, it's very cold up on the Zugspitze! In general, the area around the Zugspitze is very exciting. Here you will find the winter sports resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the famous Eibsee. The region is also worth a visit in summer: Lake Eibsee invites you to go swimming, stand-up paddling, or boating, and the area is also a real dream for hiking enthusiasts. A region that you should definitely visit when you are on the road with your RV in Bavaria!
  • Rent a camping vehicle and experience the dreamlike alpine idyll in Berchtesgadener Land: Lush, green mountain meadows, ringing cowbells, turquoise-blue lakes, and spectacular mountains - yes, that's exactly what Berchtesgadener Land looks like. Ideal for a lovely holiday with a camper van.
  • The classic - Neuschwanstein Castle: Neuschwanstein Castle is impressive and an absolute must-see when on holiday in southern Germany. The fairytale castle was built in the 19th century by the Bavarian King Ludwig II and is a real visitor magnet.
  • The Black Forest: Get out of Bavaria - off to Baden-Württemberg. Here you will find Germany's highest low mountain range with charming towns and idyllic low mountain ranges.

Holidays in Central Germany: An underestimated region

  • The Eifel: Camping in a volcanic area? You can do that in the Eifel! But don't worry - the volcanoes are all extinct, of course. And today, the Eifel enchants with its dreamlike nature. Ideal for a camping holiday in Germany. Rent a RV and explore the beautiful landscape of the Eifel - around the lake Maria Laach. For car enthusiasts: You'll also find the famous Nürburgring nearby.
  • Saxon Switzerland and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains: Here, you will find breathtaking rocky landscapes and can embark on challenging hikes with spectacular views. Saxon Switzerland is also becoming increasingly popular with tourists - and is already an absolute must on your road trip through Germany.
  • Camping holidays on the Moselle The Moselle is famous for wine (mountains), the impressive Moselle Bend, and romantic villages. It's worth a visit!

Rent a RV and explore the north of Germany

  • With a RV to Berlin: Yes, you can also go on holiday with a RV in the city. Berlin is hip, modern, and colourful. It goes without saying that the capital should not be missing on your trip.
  • Rügen - the largest island in the country: Rent a RV in Germany and breathe in the sea air on Rügen. You can easily reach the island via a bridge. Here you will find not only beautiful beaches, but also the Jasmund National Park.
  • Lüneburg: A charming town with a medieval town centre and typical North German brick buildings. From the water tower, you have a beautiful view of the salt and Hanseatic city.
  • On a RV trip through northern Germany, Hamburg is, of course, a must: The Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg harbour, and the Landungsbrücken or the St. Pauli district. Hamburg is always worth a trip. With a RV, too, of course. Tip: There is a camper van site directly at the harbour, near the fish market. Here you are right in the middle of it all and can fall straight into a cosy bed after an excursion into Hamburg's nightlife.
  • St. Peter-Ording is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places on the North Sea: 12 kilometres of the finest sandy beach (some of which is even accessible by car - or RV), dunes, and houses on stilts await you here. If you're on holiday at the North Sea, you can't miss St. Peter-Ording.
  • But the Baltic Sea also has beautiful places to offer, of course. Warnemünde, for example. The former fishing village enchants with chic alleyways, a beautiful beach, and large cruise ships.

Renting a RV? Tips for camping holidays

  • One of the best things about camping is sitting outside at night, barbecuing, playing cards, and sitting together. Note, however, that even in summer, it can get quite cold at night. So remember to bring thick jumpers or jackets.
  • What should I definitely take with me when I rent a camping vehicle? Our tips for what not to forget when camping: Be sure to bring bathing shoes so you can shower at campsites. A clothes hanger is also very useful for drying wet clothes and towels. It is also best to use microfibre towels. These dry faster than conventional terry towels.
  • By the way, Germany has a great advantage as a travel destination: You don't have to pay tolls! In other countries, such a road trip can quickly become expensive.
