RVs in Lübeck

RV Rental in Lübeck: Discover Lübeck with Campstar

If you rent RV in Lübeck and want to discover the Hanseatic city, then you are always flexible and independent on the road with the campervan.

The Hanseatic city of Lübeck, in Schleswig-Holstein, has a total of 210 bridges spanning various bodies of water. So it's no wonder that the Hanseatic city is also called Little Venice. The Holsten Gate is probably the most famous landmark, showing visitors the way to the Old Town Island. The medieval town centre can be described as veritable, which is why it has also been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Holidays in RV - campervan pitches in Lübeck

The choice of parking spaces for campervan hire is relatively large in the Hanseatic city in beautiful Schleswig-Holstein. The following parking facilities are available for campervan hire directly or in one of Lübeck's districts:

There are parking spaces for a total of 16 campervans on the site at car park P4 in Lübeck. The site is located near the music and congress hall, below the Marienbrücke. Due to its particularly central location on the Old Town Island, the centre of Lübeck can be reached on foot in just a few minutes.

The parking space at the shopping centre is designed for 10 campervans. The free spaces are located in the Buntekuh district, at Ziegeleistr. 232, on the Plaza supermarket car park.

If you rent a campervan in Lübeck, the parking space is located at the fishing harbour in the Travemünde district. The site is chargeable and offers parking spaces for a total of 95 campervans. The site is close to the harbour, the city centre and the Skandinavienkai.

The Wohnmobil Treff Lübeck is a fee-paying site for 40 mobile homes. The site is located at the Hülshorst sports park near the Schellbruch nature reserve in the St. Gertrud district.

Rent a camping pitch and discover Lübeck's Old Town

If you rent RV in the Hanseatic city, you should definitely pay a visit to the Holsten Gate. It is part of Lübeck's historic fortifications. Two mighty towers rise up to the right and left of the intermediate wing. If you want to visit the medieval centre of Lübeck, walk under the round arch of the passage gate. The town hall was built right in the heart of the old town as early as 1230. The brick Gothic style of the historic monument was then supplemented by various architectural styles over the centuries. The Audience Hall and the Mayor's Gallery are particularly impressive. You can take a closer look at both during a special guided tour.

If you rent RV in the Hanseatic city, you should also pay a visit to the Buddenbrockhaus. The building stands barely 200 metres from the river Trave. This was once the home of the Mann family, who became famous through the famous novel "Die Buddenbrooks". Today, behind the historic façades of the Schiffstellerhaus, the Heinrich and Thomas Mann Centre functions as a works archive and museum at the same time.

The history of the Hanseatic League and that of the famous Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann is impressively presented in the museums of Lübeck's medieval city centre. The unmistakable silhouette of seven towers has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Behind the walls of the Holsten Gate, which can be up to 3.5 m thick, is the Holsten Gate Museum. Here, the history of Lübeck, with reference to "The Power of Trade", is presented in a particularly memorable way in a permanent interactive exhibition.

Rent RV in Lübeck and discover the Hanseatic city with the whole family

If you want to rent RV and give free rein to your creativity, then the history experience area Roter Hahn is particularly suitable. It is located in the Kücknitz district: Against an impressive medieval backdrop, young and old "craftsmen" try their hand at building wooden huts, baked bread is baked and animal lovers get up close to horses, goats and sheep. Those interested in seafaring are drawn to the Untertrave in the museum harbour. There you can marvel at historic sailing boats, fishing boats and tugboats. The Lisa von Lübeck is anchored at Rehnkai. This is a Hanseatic ship reconstruction from the 15th century. In the summer months, the proud ship sets out on excursions at regular intervals.

Rent RV in Lübeck and explore the surrounding area

Lübeck and the surrounding area, especially the districts, are also worth exploring when you rent RV in Lübeck. The district of St. Gertrud stretches from the city park and the old town to the border of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Numerous Wilhelminian style villas make up the charm of this district. But the thatched cottages in the fishing village of Gothmund are also very attractive.

If you drive your campervan to the district of St. Jürgen, you will be captivated by the partly still quite village-like character. If you park your campervan here, the extensive fields and meadows of the Lauenburg countryside will tempt you to go on long excursions.

Kücknitz is surrounded by nature reserves and forests. From here, the harbour is easy to reach by campervan and ferries and huge container ships can be admired. A detour to Bad Schwartau, which is only a few minutes away, is also recommended from Kücknitz. Incidentally, the famous Schwartau jam is available at particularly good prices in the factory outlet. Schwartau articles are offered there at permanent special offer prices and further discounts on 2nd choice goods.

Continuing on from Bad Schwartau, the little round trip takes you into the surrounding area to Travemünde. Significantly, it is in this district that the river Trave flows into the Bay of Lübeck. The seaside resort also includes the Priwall peninsula. Here, the wide sandy beaches invite you to take walks and sunbathe all year round.

Rent RV and become a self-caterer

If you are only looking for a holiday souvenir, we recommend the world-famous marzipan.

For a cosy drink in the company of other campers, the traditional speciality of Rotspon becomes a delight. The red wine has been imported from France since the 16th century. When still quite fresh, it is decanted into oak barrels, stored until it is ready for bottling and then bottled.

You don't have to worry about your daily vitamin intake in the Hanseatic city. Simply drive your campervan to one of the weekly markets. There, locals and travellers alike stock up on fresh regional produce. Fresh food is also sometimes available here in the afternoons. If you park your campervan close to the centre, you can quickly reach Breite Straße. This begins at the market square and takes its way north from here. The shopping mile is lined with well-known designer shops, specialist shops, department stores and restaurants. If you are looking for a parking space for your campervan right outside the door and short distances to shop, park your campervan at the CITTI-PARK and CITTI-MARKT shopping centres.
