Motorhome hire in Manchester: Helpful travel information

There are three Metroshuttels within the city centre. They can even be used free of charge. Lines 1 and 2 even run on Sundays. These shuttles are particularly helpful for those who prefer to leave their motorhome at the campsite.

Large parts of Manchester city centre can also be explored very well on foot. Most buses leave from Piccadilly Gardens. As the buses are largely privately owned, they have different colours. You will therefore wait in vain for the typical red London bus.

The different companies in Manchester only sell single tickets for their own line and cannot be used on other buses. Unfortunately, this is somewhat impractical.

However, it is possible to buy a day ticket for all buses. These DaySaver any Bus tickets cost around 6 pounds.

If you don't need to change bus routes, you can buy a day ticket for 4 pounds with the Stagecoach/Magic Bus. These tickets are available directly on the bus from the driver. It is also possible to hire a bicycle in the city.

When travelling by bus in Manchester, keep an eye out for pickpockets. Unfortunately, this is one of the bigger problems in the city. Particularly popular items are radios, navigation devices and mobile phones. The mobile phone should be securely stowed in the pocket and not taken out on the road. Pockets are safest at the front of the body.
