How do I search for a campground?

If you are looking for a campground on campstar, enter your destination, your travel dates, the number of guests in the search field and begin your search. The search results will then be displayed. You can narrow down the search results by using the filters. Click on an ad to open it. Here you will find details about the campground. Finally, book your stay, or inquire about availability.

How do I book a pitch/accommodation on campstar?

Campstar provides two methods for you to book your camping vacation: Booking by inquiry and direct booking.

What is booking by inquiry?

You can send a booking request to a campground via a registration form. This will be forwarded to the campground operator who should respond in 48 hours, to confirm or decline your request.

What is instant booking?

Selected campgrounds will be available for instant booking. By this method, you can instantly secure your accommodation based on the availability for your travel period and travelling party. Prices will be based on the criteria you provided. Additional extras may be added to your reservation.

How do I know if there are available places at the campground?

For instant booking, you can only select and book accomodation that is available. For an inquiry request, you will be notified by email if your request has been accepted. If your request is not successful, the campground will also inform you directly.

Am I going to receive a travel document?

Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive an email with all the necessary information for your stay.

What should I do if I do not receive a booking/inquiry confirmation?

The confirmation email may take up to 5 minutes to reach your inbox. If you do not receive your booking/inquiry confirmation, please check your spam folder. In the event that you still have not received your booking/inquiry request, please contact us directly at bookings@campstar.com.


How do I pay ?

For the instant booking method, you will be charged when the booking has been confirmed. For individual arrangements made with the campgroundoperator via a booking inquiry, all payments will occur on-site. An upfront part-payment may be required by some campgrounds.

What payment methods are available?

For instant bookings through campstar, you can pay with Visa and Mastercard. For booking inquiries, payment is made in full at the campground. Payment methods on-site may vary.

Will I need to pay something extra after the booking ?

Campstar tries to provide the most accurate prices. In some cases, the final price may not account for local fees. Individual deposit policies and regional tourist taxes may vary.

Can I pay in any currency?

For instant bookings you will be charged in euros (€). Payment on-site is made in the respective local currency.

Amendments & Cancellations

How can I amend my booking?

It is not possible to amend your instant booking on campstar. However, it is possible to cancel your booking and then rebook your desired stay. Please see our cancellation policy below. For booking by inquiry, please contact the campground operator directly to inquire about amendment possibilities.

How can I cancel my booking?

To cancel a confirmed reservation, please contact us directly at bookings@campstar.com. Please provide your booking number.

What is the cancellation policy?

By cancelling an instant booking, the following charge rates will apply:

  • up to 48 hours after the booking: free of charge
  • more than 30 days prior to the arrival date: 20% of paid amount
  • 29 days - 7 days prior to the arrival date: 70% of paid amount
  • less than 7 days prior to the arrival date: 100% of paid amount

For booking by inquiry, individual campground's cancellation policy may apply.

Due to an emergency I cannot start my camping holiday, what should I do?

For instant bookings, please refer to campstar’s cancellation policy. For booking by inquiry, please inform the campground as soon as possible. If you need help, please contact info@campstar.com.

At the campground

What should I do when I arrive at the campground?

On arrival, please present your travel documents at the campground's reception. Check before, when you should arrive, the campground may have strict check-in times.

Can I end my trip early?

For instant booking, it is not possible to refund the remaining days of the stay. For booking by inquiry, please contact the campground operator.

What should I consider on the day of departure?

On the day of your departure, an inspection will be carried out by the campground. Leave the pitch/accommodation the way you found it. Finish the check-out process and collect your deposit.


How do I rate the campground?

At the moment it is not possible to rate the campground. We are working to offer this as soon as possible. We know how important the experiences of other campers are.
