Camping by the sea – Destination: Spain!

Sun, sea, beach and much more: Spain guarantees a “feel good” holiday. Especially for campers. The experts among campers swear in Playa de Concha de Artedo on the Costa Verde. The bay on Andalusia’s coast is considered to be one of the most romantic beaches in Spain. Furthermore the city beach of Tossa de Mar and its nearby sandy bays are among Spain’s favourite beaches, as are the idyllic bathing bays of Xábia. Without a doubt, the endless, fine sandy beaches on Andalusia’s wild Atlantic coast around Concil de la Frontera are also among the top tips.

The village of Cudillero, in Spain

Sun and bathing fun by the sea in the north

Playa de Concha de Artedo, Cudillero

The northwestern beaches of the Atlantic Ocean – Asturias’ coastal landscape is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the entire Spanish Kingdom. Fine sandy beaches on the one hand and small, rocky bays hidden here and there between dramatic cliffs on the other hand. Not far from the Asturian metropolis of Villaviciosa lies the charming little town of Cudillero. Small houses nest in the steep slopes of the bay, while the old harbour is surrounded by fish taverns. Camping lovers will get impressed by the particularly beautiful Playa de Concha de Artedo and its surroundings. The wide, romantic, sandy beach, framed by impressive rocks invites you to dream. Campers will enjoy visiting Camping Playa Spain in Villaviciosa.

The beach of Tossa de Mar, in Spain

Tossa de Mar

Tossa de Mar is the jewel of Costa Brava, full of fine white sandy beaches. Alone the journey to Tossa de Mar is an unforgettable experience. Drive along the more than 20 kilometres winding road of Sant Feliu de Guixols and take a look at the rocky cliffs of Tossa de Mar. From time to time you will see the wonderful view of the azure blue sea and the small, enchanted bathing bays.

The great Marc Chagall painted the romantic Tossa. Today his paintings are considered highlights of the Municipal Museum of the old town Villa Vera, which is surrounded by medieval walls. The extensive sandy beaches of Tossa de Mar are all exceptionally clean and are considered absolute hotspots from young people and families alike. Camping Cala Llevadó, one amongst the 60 campsites in the Tossa region, is a popular destination.

The beach of Valencia, in Spain

Playa de la Malvarrosa & Playa de las Arenas, in Valencia

Valencias visitors can on the one hand explore the fascinating metropolis and on the other hand enjoy the relaxation of a beach holiday. The two kilometres long Playa de la Malvarrosa is lined with palm trees, while Playa de las Arenas is considered perfect for sunbathing during the day and turns to an ideal party hotspot at night. You will find nearby Camping Coll Vert, Camping Devesa Gardens and many others.

The beach of Xàbia, in Spain

Costa Blanca

Relaxation on the beach meets fun and sports on the world-famous Costa Blanca. The “White Coast” of the Spanish province Alicante is about 160 kilometres long. It stretches from the northern Cabo de la Nao to the Cabo de Palos near Cartagena. Travellers will find flat, beautiful sandy beaches and coasts with cliffs. Benidorm is considered a highlight; campers can relax in the  areas Dénia and Xàbia. Camping Jávea is ideal for camping under palm trees.

The beach of Alicante, in Spain

Playa del Postiguet, in Alicante

Recommendable is also the clean city beach of Alicante, the Playa del Postiguet. Alicantes camping resorts tend to receive excellent ratings, as does La Marina Camping & Resort, located directly on the sea.

The beach of Malagueta, in Spain

The very south – the coast of the sun

Playa de la Malagueta & Playa de la Caleta

The sunny, Spanish coast with its capital Malaga, are one of the most beautiful holiday regions in Europe. The warm, mild climate helps cypresses, agaves and palm trees grow in the region.

Playa de la Malagueta is close to the city centre of Malaga, Andalusia’s second largest city and heart of Costa del Sol. Playa de la Caleta is considered to be one of the most favourite beaches in Spain. Camping Málaga Monte Parc is ideal for relaxing and charging your batteries.

The beach of Marbella, in Spain

The beaches of Torremolinos & Playa del Cable, in Marbella

While the beaches of Torremolinos are absolute hotspots for sun lovers and especially for disco freaks, Marbella is probably the best seaside resort on the Andalusian coast. After sunset, the family-friendly Playa del Cable transforms into the party beach Bounty right by the sea. The next camping site is called Marbella Club.

The beach of Tarifa, in Spain

Tarifa

The most southern Spanish city is the windsurfing paradise of Tarifa, where the coast of Africa and the famous rock of Gibraltar are close by. This top destination for surfers from all over the world has several camping sites by the sea, such as Camping Torre de la Peña.

The beach of Concil de la Frontera, in Spain

La Fontanilla, in Concil

Concil de la Frontera is also known as the pearl of Costa de la Luz. A walk through the fishing village Concil leads to the beach La Fontanilla, which is also very popular because of its excellent fish restaurants. The sandy beach stretches for kilometres in Cabo de Trafalgar – a shore zone for the best beach holiday. Camping los Eucaliptos is recommended.

The beach of Palma, in Spain

The dream beaches of the Spanish islands

Playa de Palma

Let’s get away from the Spanish mainland! Our island overview begins with Mallorca: The party island has many quiet beaches to offer. Playa de Palma is considered a longing destination for many travellers in Mallorca.

The island Formentera, in Spain

Playa de se Illetes & Playa de la Arena

The small Mediterranean island Formentera is well know for Playa de se Illetes, while the “Black Beaches” at the sea of Tenerife and Playa de la Arena are as impressive as original and extravagant.

Viva la vida

Popular campsites are amongst many others:

  • The Resort Bungalow Park Mas Patoxas (Gironda, Costa Brava)
  • Kiko Park (Valencia, Costa Daurada)
  • The camping resort Cap Blanch (Alicante, Costa Blanca)
  • The Cambingareal Flamenco Campers (Málaga Costa del Sol)
  • The camping resort La Rosaleda (Cadiz, Costa de la Luz)

The Spanish sun, the wide, soft sandy beaches, the great people and the culture of the country make the Spanish Kingdom a guarantee for the best feel-good holiday you will ever have. Out of the 3,144 kilometres of coastline, more than 2,000 kilometres are covered by sand. The same applies to hundreds of camping sites between Santillana del Mar and Tarifa.

So pack your bags and off you go! Or do you first want to have a look at Italy?
