1. Experience adventure in the city of Anchorage

Be sure to visit the largest city in the state on your Alaska trip. Located on The Bay of Cook Inlet, Anchorage offers a variety of exciting activities. During the day you can take exciting hikes along with glaciers or get an authentic fishing experience. The small village of Seward impresses with its historic old town and picturesque natural scenery. A highlight is the Alaska SeaLife Center, which allows you to see animals such as seals, fish and various species of birds. Above the city, you will also find the Mount Marathon, where numerous athletes gather every year for Alaska’s most important race.

Take a pleasant hike along the Russian River, a left tributary of the Kenai River. Here you can go fishing, trail running or just relax. In addition, the river is known for its salmon, so both red and silver salmon can be observed.

Talkeetna is located near Denali, the highest mountain in North America. Numerous offers for every weather and every season await you here. Visit an art exhibition and the special souvenir shops or take a trip on the water with a raft or kayak.

This 2.4 million hectare, a must-see place is close to Healy and Cantwell. Discover the largest protected ecosystem in the world, home to numerous species of plants, birds, fish and mammals. In the middle of Denali National Park and Preserve is also the highest mountain in North America: Mount Denali. In addition to climbing the 6,194-meter-high mountain, the park offers other activities, such as backpacking or inflatable boating.
