RV Rental in Miami: Discover Miami and surroundings with campstar

Miami, the Magic City, is the ideal place to start a RV holiday in Florida. When you think of a holiday in Miami, the first thing that comes to mind are the long sandy beaches of Miami Beach. They are the symbol and epitome of life in Miami Beach.
The beautiful Art Deco facades from the 30s and 40s compete with the unique beautiful white sandy beach on South Beach.
Along Ocean Drive, the famous promenade, posh bars and restaurants and incredible shopping attract attention. The atmosphere like something out of a movie includes, of course, the fancy sports cars and shiny classic cars.
The absolute opposite of this is Miami Downtown. The breathtaking skyline of skyscrapers between the Miami River and Bayfront Park captivates you. The city seems to grow immeasurably. Shopping centres line up next to office buildings, cultural centres are right next to government buildings.

The best time to travel

For your trip to Miami, you should choose the months from November to April. During this time, the temperatures are more bearable. The air is not as humid and humid as in summer. Between March and August, temperatures rise up to 33 degrees Celsius. Because of the frequent rain, the air is also extremely humid.
It is ideal to rent a RV for your holiday in the Sunshine State Florida. This gives you the flexibility to get to know Miami in all its facets and to start tours in the exciting surroundings.
A trip to the Everglades is pure adventure. What an experience when an alligator suddenly emerges from the swampy landscape. Take a ride on a typical hovercraft through reeds and swamp and observe flamingos and turtles up close.
Another alternative is a first-class trip to the Keys. The legendary Overseas Highway connects the southernmost point of the mainland with the island chain via 42 bridges.
A dreamlike drive takes you across the water to the coral islands in the Gulf of Mexico.
Before renting a RV, it's best to find out how many beds you need. Will the modest, spartan furnishings of a van or a small camper be enough, or do you perhaps prefer a camper van? With the simple furnishings, however, you will look in vain for a bathroom or toilet. You'll have to rely on the campsite's sanitary facilities.
Do you prefer something more comfortable? Then you have the choice between a classic camper van for two people or for four people or even for a family. The RVs also have an alcove. This means that they have an additional sleeping niche above the driver's cabin.

Where can I park my RV?

You won't find a place to park your RV in Miami or Miami Beach. With a camper van, it is a little easier to park in the city. But be sure to look out for the "Tow Away Zone" signs. This means "tow away zone". If you park there by mistake, your vehicle can be gone very quickly.
The most popular campsite for those travelling by RV is the Miami Everglades Resort in South Miami. The campground has 240 sites for campers or RVs. You will find electricity and water connections, toilets with hot showers and laundry facilities.
The transport network in Miami is very tight and you can easily get to all corners of the city and to the beach from the campsite, even without a vehicle.
If you are taking a trip to the Everglades National Park, you have two campsites for your RV. The Everglades campground offers 108 sites and the Flamingo campground has 41 sites for campers with electricity.
Start your trip to Miami with a direct flight to Miami International Airport. It is located about 11 kilometres from the city.
You should rent a RV and discover Miami and its surroundings without being tied down. If you land after a long-haul flight, however, you will not be handed over on the same day. Renting a camper van before you start your trip and picking it up in Miami is definitely cheaper and you can be sure that your camper van will be ready for you when you arrive.
You can rent a camper in Miami early at "campstar" and save some money. You can react to seasonal fluctuations and choose the best camper or camper van or your RV at your leisure.
The day after your arrival, you should be at the rental station at the agreed time for pick-up. You can easily get from your accommodation to the rental station with the "Metromover" or a taxi. Camper rental in Miami or a larger RV rental in Miami is possible without any problems. To pick up the vehicle, you will need to present your passport and class 3/B driver's licence and your credit card as security. Your age should be 21 years. If you want another driver to drive the vehicle, you have to register him in the contract when renting a camper in Miami.
If you are planning a longer trip on your RV holiday and want to return the vehicle outside of Florida, you will usually have to pay a one-way rental fee. This applies, for example, if you want to start in Miami and return from New York. This means renting the camper in Miami and returning it in New York.
On your tours or round trips, be aware that many roads and bridges in the USA are subject to tolls.
The fees are usually collected electronically. It is worthwhile to rent a transponder from the rental company of the RV. The vehicle is registered via its number plate and later the toll charges incurred are billed to the credit card on file.
An alternative is to buy a SunPass, which is recognised by the systems. But be careful, if you have the SunPass, you must not rent another system from the car rental company. Otherwise you may be charged twice.
