Camping Slamni, Klimno, is a four star family campsite suitable for vacation and health holidays beside the seashore. We talked with the manager, Mrs. Biserka Komadina and found out all about Camping Slamni and the island of Krk!

Our campground and our story

Camping Slamni opened in 2011 and covers a plot of over 7500 m². Due to my big passion for nature and my many years of experience in tourism, the opening of a campsite seemed the next logical step for us. I know from my own experience not only how necessary a break from everyday stress can be, but also how much our body and soul needs relaxation and connection to nature.

Although our land was situated in an attractive geographical location, at first it wasn’t considered for any projects. We had to work hard to transform it into the beautiful oasis it is today. After our first big successes we decided to expand our offer and create for our guests an exceptional holiday experience. We therefore extended our offer to mobile homes as well as opening a restaurant. Since Glamping is currently the absolute trend in the camping world, we decided in 2018 to open our Fishermans Glamping Village.

Our campsite has a total of 52 accommodation units, including 35 pitches, 12 mobile homes, 5 glamour tents. All in all we can accommodate two hundred guests. Pitches are equipped with electricity (CEE), water, sewage and free Wi-Fi signal. They are located 5-60 meters from the sea and have a size of 50 to 110 m2.

Mobile homes and tents are equipped with the latest standards, including a modern equipped kitchen, bedroom, covered outdoor terrace, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and satellite TV.

In the modern sanitary area there are toilets, showers and washbasins with hot and cold water, hairdryers, private cabins with washbasins, baby changing bathrooms with changing rooms, sinks, hand laundry, places for ironing laundry, a dishwasher room and a chemical toilet disposal area. There is also a gym with modern fitness equipment on the ground floor of the main building.

In the main building next to the reception, there is a grocery store where food, newspapers and holiday items are sold. Next to the beach bar, where you can enjoy excellent coffee or cocktails with a magnificent sea view, there is a area to play bocce, which locals call “jog”. We also rent sun umbrellas and sun loungers at our beach at any time. Children can play on our playground and the pool, which is located right next to the beach.

Our entertainment program

We offer an outstanding evening and activity program for every taste. On the summer nights, folk festivals take place and acapella songs are sung. We also organise animations for our young guests. At the same time we try to show our guests our customs and traditions.

Every Thursday we organise a fishing festival for all our camp guests. That evening my husband takes over the role of the main cook and prepares grilled fish for all our guests – a traditional way of preparing fish on the Adriatic coast. Traditional music enriches the program and creates an unforgettable evening.

Our restaurant visitors can enjoy seasonal dishes from Croatia and the island of Krk. We recommend each visitor to taste the handmade pasta Šurlice with a glass of Žlahtina wine, which comes from the native Croatian white grape variety of the island of Krk.

Our team

But our success would not have been possible without the team I work with every day. Our atmosphere is relaxed and one will always find laughter and positive energy in the campsite.

Our campsite may be small, but we approach every guest in a friendly manor. We don’t see guests as numbers, but as people with a first and last name.

At the same time quality plays a central role to us. Thus we enrich our offer every year. Our guests appreciate our efforts and quality, which is why we have loyal customers who choose us again and again for their holidays.

The location of our campsite

Camping Slamni is situated in the north-eastern part of the island of Krk, in one of the most unusual oases, in the bay of Soline, famous for its medicinal mud for the treatment of skin and rheumatic diseases. On the Meline site, for instance, just a few hundred metres from our campsite, there is a sandy beach with healing mud.

Thanks to its geographical position, the camp slopes slightly towards the Slamni bay and its pebble beach. The bay, sheltered from the wind and with shallow, warm waters and the good climate conditions are ideal for swimming and water activities. Slamni is not only suitable for holidays at the pick of the season, but also in spring and late autumn.

Camp Slamni is very well connected as we are 13 km from the Krk Bridge and the airport.

The area where our campsite is located is famous for its cultural and historical heritage and its numerous natural beauties. The citadel Dobrinj from the early century, for example, is rich in cultural sights. There are also well-known nature reserves in the vicinity. An example of this is the speleological attraction, the Biserujka cave, which is about 110 metres long.

More than 60 kilometres of well maintained and marked hiking and cycling trails make the area an attractive destination for active lifestyle enthusiasts and leisure and professional sports enthusiasts.

We went to Slamni camp just on a visit and to see, how is it working. We were very satisfied with the staff at the bar, prices are not too high, the location of the bar is great. Just beside the bar, there is a pool for children and a playground. The beach is clean and nicely organized (should have some more umbrellas for shadow), but unfortunately situated just by the dock. The camp looks nice and tidy, is rather small, but otherwise, it has everything that you need.
