Please use our filters on the search results page. With the filter you can filter out providers that allow you to bring pets.
Wild camping is generally prohibited in Berlin. There are a lot of possibilities to park your camper overnight in Berlin - either on a campsite or on a parking lot for campervans.
This depends on the rental company. Most rental companies allow use from the age of 18. Please check the rental conditions of the rental company on the details page.
This is allowed in principle, as long as the instructions for the safe fastening of the child are followed.
In Germany, you are allowed to spend one night in your camper van in places where it is not explicitly forbidden. This “interruption of the journey” officially serves as a means to “restore the ability to drive”. This means if you are too tired to continue driving, you may – at any time – stop in a suitable parking lot and rest until you can continue driving. For this reason, you shouldn’t give the impression that you want to camp there. Taking out chairs, extending the awning, and preparing for a barbecue will give the impression of a long term stay. It’s a good idea to arrive as late as possible and continue early the next day. Overnight parking of maximum 10 hours is tolerated.
Germany has a network of official camper van areas called Stellplatz, and there’s around 3600 of them throughout the country. These areas are usually provided by villages or towns and many also offer water, waste disposal and electricity hook-up. It is also possible, for example, in parking lots on the motorway or at parking bays and rest areas on federal highways where there are no prohibition signs for campers. In such parking lots, overnight stays are usually free of charge, unless you park your motorhome in a paid parking lot.
In Germany, motorhomes weighing up to 3.5 tonnes are allowed to drive fairly fast. The speed limit outside of towns and villages is 100 km/h, while you can go up to 120 km/h on express roads. Most German motorways don’t have a speed limit. However, ADAC, the German automobile association, recommends a speed limit of 130 km/h. Know the speed limits and remember they will be displayed in kilometres per hour: 130kph = 80mph, 110kph = 68mph, 50mph = 31mph. Penalties for speeding offences can be harsher than in the UK.
Germany is a very friendly country to campervan enthousiast, it has beautiful scenery, smooth roads, and numerous campsites. The autobahn also makes travelling easy and quick.

Campervan hire: The greatest sights in Berlin and the surrounding area

Berlin has so many sights that it's hard to choose. The 10 sights you shouldn't miss can be found here:

Destination 1: Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburg Gate is the city's landmark. It is easily accessible with a campervan. When it was completed in 1791, it was just one of the countless city gates, but today it has achieved world fame, not least because of reunification. You should also visit Pariser Platz directly in front of the gate.

Destination 2: Berlin Wall Memorial and Documentation Centre

The Berlin Wall Memorial commemorates the time when Germany was divided into two parts after World War II. It consists of a memorial to the victims of the Wall, an information centre and a chapel.

The East Side Gallery with its colourful and sometimes thoughtful graffiti is also very typical of the city's history. Some of the old watchtowers are still standing here.

Probably the most beautiful campsite to park a campervan, caravan or van is the Sanssouci campsite. The site is located in a nature reserve directly on Lake Templin.

The sanitary facilities are modern and very clean. All the equipment is up to date and tasteful. This is a big plus for the site.

Here you can enjoy the countryside and the city at the same time with your camper van. Rent a bike to explore the beautiful surroundings of the lake. There are even guided bike tours through the city.

A tour with a water taxi is also highly recommended. Water taxi 3 stops at Babelsberg Park. A trip to Cecilienhof Palace is not to be missed.

Campervan hire: Hotel & City Camping North Media

Here you can also park your camper van or van directly by the water. A large number of beautiful trees provide shade for the camper in summer. The sanitary facilities are clean and in good condition.

You can also rent bikes nearby on this square. By public transport, you can be in the city in just 30 minutes. This is very convenient, as a campervan may cost a lot in parking fees.

If you like to get out on the water, you can rent a kayak. A boat trip along the canals is great fun in summer. The only drawback is the noise of the planes. Thanks to the ban on night flights, however, it only gets louder after 8 am.

Campervan hire: Gorinsee

This campsite is located, as the name suggests, on the eponymous Gorin Lake. Campers are welcome on the site with their campervans and vans from April to October. The rest of the time it is closed.

Camping site Himmelreich

Not quite as close to Berlin as the other sites, this huge campsite offers beautiful plots on a peninsula. Lake Templin has a four-kilometre-long sandy beach where you can almost feel like you're at the seaside in summer.

The site is handicapped accessible, has individual showers and Wi-Fi. There is also a children's playground and table tennis tables. Groceries are also available on the site if you have forgotten something or want fresh bread rolls in the morning.

Campervan Port Berlin

Certainly not the nicest place to park your campervan, but it really is in the middle of the city. The campervan port resembles a large car park and is not much more than that.

Nevertheless, it is recommended if you are looking for a parking space in the middle of Berlin. It is also much cheaper than the other parking spaces. If you are content with the bare essentials, you will certainly like this place, as it is an ideal starting point for exploring the city.

There are toilets, washrooms and Wi-Fi. The condition is fine. At night, the place is quiet enough to sleep well.
