Campervan hire Lisbon: Discover Lisbon with Campstar

The Portuguese city of Lisbon attracts more and more visitors every year. There are many reasons why the capital of Portugal is so popular. Hardly any other city has as many sights to offer as this metropolis, plus a wonderfully warm climate, wonderful nature and friendly locals.

Despite its size, Lisboa has over 600 000 inhabitants, the city has a lot of charm and also some quiet corners where you can relax. Due to the numerous beautiful campsites in and around the city centre, a holiday with a Campervan here is really fun.

Lisboa is located directly on the mouth of the Tagus River on the Atlantic Ocean. The picturesque bay and harbour are wonderful destinations for excursions. The old harbour was already built under Roman rule. No less a person than Julius Caesar granted the city its rights at that time.

It was only during the Second Crusade that Alis Ubbo, as the settlement was then called, became Portuguese. In the 1500s, Lisbon rose to become one of the most powerful cities, goods from all over the world were loaded and sold here.

Even today, the tremendous history is visible in many places. Although Lisboa lost much of its influence from the 18th century onwards, many of the magnificent buildings still remain. Visiting the most important monuments takes several days.

If you want to relax from the tours, Lisbon's numerous beaches invite you to a bathing holiday. The Campervan can be parked in the car parks of the most famous beaches without hesitation. Lisboa is one of the safest capitals in the EU.
